Bio
Carolyn Broussard has one of those voices that makes you turn your head and take notice. In her 10 years on the New Orleans music scene she has distinguished herself as one of the most versatile and sought-after singers in New Orleans today. Originally hailing from New Iberia and beginning her training as an opera singer, she has become a force to be reckoned with in the fast-growing NolAmericana scene.
The best way to describe the sound of Carolyn Broussard is Americana, raised in Cajun country with a New Orleans attitude. The foundation of the band is the songwriting and vocal prowess of Carolyn herself. She surrounds herself with extremely talented musicians and allows them to shine, whether singing in 4-part vocal harmony, or blowing the audience away with instrumental solos on banjo or guitar. These things along with the rhythm section providing that driving, sometimes slinky, southern feel conjure a familiar yet original sound.
